Ed Morris - Kentucky State Director

KY-Ed-Morris-ELK-7 _3x4

Ed Morris brings a lifetime of outdoor experience, conservation leadership, military service, and civic involvement to his role as Hunter Nation’s Kentucky State Director.

Ed’s passion for the outdoors began as a youngster trailing his dad on family rabbit hunts. Since then, he has grown into an accomplished outdoorsman, hunting extensively across the United States and abroad while pursuing a wide range of game animals and fish species. His love for hunting, fishing, conservation, and America’s outdoor heritage has shaped decades of leadership and service.

For more than 40 years, Ed has served as an officer and board member for numerous outdoor and conservation organizations, including Ducks Unlimited, Safari Club International, United Bowhunters of Kentucky, and the League of Kentucky Sportsmen. He continues to serve today as a board member of Jefferson Gun Club in Louisville.

Ed is also deeply involved in public policy and grassroots political engagement. He and his wife, Cindy, have hosted numerous fundraisers and campaign events for candidates who support hunting, conservation, the outdoors, and Second Amendment rights. Ed also serves on an advisory board for candidate selection and as a local Precinct Captain.

In addition to his conservation and political work, Ed has been a staff member on several outdoor television shows, including Open Season TV and Lights Out Outdoors.

Ed proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps before returning to the University of Louisville, where he earned a degree in Business Administration. He also continued his education in Civil Engineering Technology. Professionally, Ed has spent his career as an executive with major highway and utility contractors, helping build roads and water and sewer treatment plants across Kentucky, Indiana, and Tennessee.

An avid bowhunter and sporting clays shooter, Ed stays busy planning his next hunting trip, clays tournament, or family outing. Ed and Cindy live in Louisville, where they enjoy their four children, six granddaughters, and three Labrador Retrievers.

Ed has also served as a Senior Deacon at Fairdale Christian Church and gives credit to God for all He has provided.

Hunter Nation is proud to welcome Ed Morris as Kentucky State Director and looks forward to his leadership in defending America’s hunting traditions, outdoor heritage, conservation values, and constitutional freedoms.

Hunter Nation Webinar Highlights Growing Demand to Delist the Gray Wolf

By Hunter Nation

Hunter Nation is pushing for gray wolf delisting and the return of wildlife management authority to the states. Unmanaged wolf populations are impacting deer and elk herds, livestock operations, pets, and rural communities across the Midwest and West. Conservation depends on balanced, science-based predator management that protects both wildlife and hunting traditions. Through legislation, advocacy, and public engagement, Hunter Nation continues fighting to ensure rural Americans and state wildlife professionals—not activist lawsuits—shape the future of wolf management.

Hunter Nation Celebrates Passage of Senator Allain’s SB244 Creating Louisiana’s First Recreational Alligator Hunting Season

By Hunter Nation

Hunter Nation celebrates the unanimous passage of Louisiana Senate Bill 244, legislation championed by State Senator Robert Allain to create Louisiana’s first recreational alligator hunting season.

With Louisiana’s alligator population now exceeding 3 million, SB244 represents an important step toward responsible wildlife management while expanding hunting opportunities for Louisiana residents. The bill passed both the Louisiana Senate and House with unanimous support and has been sent to the Governor for signature.

Hunter Nation Applauds Advancement of McCormick Bill, Championing a Strategic Pause on Restrictive CWD Regulations in Louisiana

By Hunter Nation

A major step forward in Louisiana aims to pause restrictive CWD regulations and restore balance to wildlife management. HCR 4 introduces an 18-month window to reassess policies that have placed heavy burdens on hunters through rigid thresholds and declining participation. By prioritizing collaboration with hunters and landowners, the effort seeks more practical, field-driven solutions. This shift emphasizes that effective conservation depends on those closest to the land having a voice in the process.

Stand with Ted Nugent & Hunter Nation: Lift the Louisiana Baiting Ban

By Hunter Nation

Hunter Nation and Ted Nugent are calling on Louisiana hunters to support HCR 4 and lift the deer baiting ban. It’s time to address CWD with science, facts, and common sense — not destructive regulations that hurt hunters, farmers, and rural communities.

Oklahoma HB 3270: What the Bill Proposed—and Where It Stands Now

By Hunter Nation

Oklahoma’s HB 3270 aimed to reshape deer management by introducing genetic strategies to combat Chronic Wasting Disease and shifting oversight of farmed deer operations. The proposal included breeding for disease resistance, releasing selected deer into wild populations, and changing regulatory authority between agencies. Although the bill failed in committee and is unlikely to advance this session, it highlights ongoing debates over wildlife health, genetics, and management approaches that could resurface in future legislation.

A Win for Hunters: Anti-Dog Language Stripped from 2026 Farm Bill

By Hunter Nation

Hunting traditions secured a key victory as harmful language targeting working dogs was removed from the 2026 Farm Bill. Earlier provisions threatened training methods, field trials, and hound hunting nationwide. Through strong advocacy and unified pressure, those risks were eliminated in committee. While this marks significant progress, the legislative process continues, and vigilance remains critical. Protecting hunting dogs and the traditions they represent depends on continued engagement and ensuring these protections remain intact through final passage.
