Hunter Nation Kentucky Strengthens Advisory Committee with Two New Leaders

Hunter Nation Kentucky continues to build a strong leadership team with the addition of two highly respected outdoorsmen to its Advisory Committee. Their experience in conservation, hunting, and public service will help strengthen Hunter Nation's mission to defend and advance the rights of Kentucky's hunters and sportsmen.

Former State Senator Gary Tapp Joins the Advisory Committee

Hunter Nation Kentucky is proud to welcome former Kentucky State Representative and State Senator Gary Tapp to the Advisory Committee.

An avid outdoorsman and farmer, Tapp brings decades of legislative experience and a deep understanding of Kentucky's political landscape. His knowledge of the legislative process, combined with the relationships he has built throughout his years of public service, will be an invaluable asset as Hunter Nation works to protect and expand opportunities for Kentucky's hunters, anglers, and outdoor enthusiasts.

Outdoor Legend Harold Knight Joins Hunter Nation Kentucky

Also joining the Advisory Committee is legendary outdoorsman Harold Knight, co-founder of Knight & Hale Game Calls.

Knight is recognized around the world for his contributions to the hunting community. Throughout his career, he has appeared on numerous television programs and outdoor shows while authoring countless articles on hunting and game calling.

His long list of accomplishments includes induction into the:

  • National Wild Turkey Federation Hall of Fame
  • Outdoors Legend Hall of Fame
  • National Turkey Callers Hall of Fame

Most recently, Knight was honored with the prestigious Fox Haas Lifetime Achievement Award.

In competitive calling, Knight's record is equally impressive, earning five World Goose Calling Championships and six World Turkey Calling Championships.

His knowledge, experience, and relationships throughout the outdoor industry make him an outstanding addition to the Hunter Nation Kentucky Advisory Committee.

Building Momentum Across Kentucky

Hunter Nation Kentucky continues to expand its presence across the Commonwealth while working to grow membership, build relationships with lawmakers, and ensure the voices of Kentucky's sportsmen are represented in Frankfort and Washington.

With major federal elections approaching—including Kentucky's open U.S. Senate race and several congressional contests—Hunter Nation Kentucky remains focused on supporting candidates who stand for the organization's core values of Faith, Family, and the Constitution, while defending hunting, fishing, and Second Amendment rights.

Upcoming Events

Planning is already underway for several Hunter Nation Kentucky events, including:

  • A fall sporting clays shoot
  • A January Pheasant Tower Shoot
  • A spring banquet
  • Booths at several upcoming outdoor expos across the state

These events will provide opportunities for hunters and conservation-minded Kentuckians to connect, support Hunter Nation's mission, and help grow the organization throughout the state.

As hunting seasons draw closer, now is the perfect time to prepare for another great year in the field. Hunter Nation Kentucky looks forward to seeing sportsmen and women at upcoming events and continuing to build a stronger voice for Kentucky's hunting heritage.

Looking Ahead to Hunting Season

With fall just around the corner, Hunter Nation Kentucky is gearing up for a busy season of advocacy, events, and time in the field.

"Stay cool and start prepping for hunting season. I'll be spending most of September in Colorado chasing elk and mule deer, so it's time to get in shape and spend plenty of time shooting my bow. I hope to see many of you at our upcoming events before then, and I wish everyone a safe and successful hunting season." -Ed Morris
