The Secret War on Wisconsin's Hunters and How We Fight Back
Let's cut the crap. While you've been working, providing for your family, and waiting for opening day, a war has been declared on our way of life. It’s not happening on some distant battlefield; it's happening in the halls of our own State Capitol, and the target is you, the Wisconsin hunter.
They think you’re not paying attention. They think they can pull the wool over your eyes with slick presentations and fancy government-speak. But the truth is finally coming out, and it's ugly.
Our own Wisconsin State Director, Chris Vaughan, just blew the lid off this thing on "The Hunter's Vote" podcast, and we're here to give you the unfiltered, no-BS breakdown.
The Great Wolf Deception: How They Plan to End Wolf Hunting for Good
Remember the plan? The one based on actual science that said we need to keep the wolf population around 350 to have a healthy deer herd? Well, they threw it in the trash.
In its place, they’ve rolled out a slick-sounding disaster called "adaptive management." It’s a classic bait-and-switch. They swapped out a clear, scientific goal for a vague "reference table" that gives them the power to do whatever they want.
This isn't about science; it's a political maneuver to ensure a wolf hunt never happens again, no matter how many deer are being slaughtered in the Northwoods. To add insult to injury, they've created 6-mile "Buffer Zones" around tribal lands, effectively stealing public land and trampling on private property rights.
We fought back. We backed a bill to restore common sense and science, and it passed in both the Assembly and the Senate. But Governor Evers, siding with the anti-hunting extremists, vetoed it. He slapped every single hunter in this state right across the face.
Exposing the "Killing Contest" Lie
Now, they're coming for coyote hunting. You've heard the emotional, dishonest term "killing contest." It's a disgusting narrative designed for one purpose: to paint you as a bloodthirsty monster and kick you off the landscape.
Let’s talk about reality. Activists cry about "cruelty" while conveniently ignoring the unimaginable cruelty of nature. They don't show you the fawn being eaten alive or the deer getting ripped to shreds by a wolf pack. A clean, ethical harvest by a hunter is the single most humane tool we have to prevent that suffering and manage our predator populations. The fact is, coyotes are exploding in number, and we're not even harvesting a fraction of what's needed to keep them in check.
This Is How We Win. This Is How We Fight Back.
We’re done playing defense. We’re taking the fight to them. Hunter Nation is throwing its full weight behind a game-changing piece of federal legislation: HR 845, The Pet and Livestock Safety Act.
This bill is our silver bullet. It will strip activist judges of their power to meddle in wildlife management and put the decision-making back where it belongs: with state biologists who understand our ecosystem.
But this bill only passes if they feel our pressure. The time for standing on the sidelines is over.
- GET LOUD: Visit HunterNation.org right now. Get the facts, find your legislators, and let them know you’re not backing down.
- SHOW UP: When we call for you at NRB, Assembly, and Senate hearings, be there. Your presence is a weapon they can’t ignore.
- UNITE: Join us this July for our major Hunter Nation event. It's time to gather the army, get organized, and take back our state.
They started this fight. We're going to finish it.
