For several months, anti-hunting animal rights activists flooded the NRB with testimonies to enact an Emergency Rule making to ban predator hunting through public events. As usual, many of the anti’s were from out of state and their comments were not based on any scientific facts, rather an effort to restrict hunting and trapping methods they simply do not agree with. 

Following the meeting the NRB stated that they admire the passion on this subject, the DNR does not have the ability to regulate "killing contests" or hunts of this nature.
