Hunter Nation Applauds Signature of Great America Outdoors Act
“Desperately needed” legislation will revive and protect our public lands
Madison, Wisconsin (August 4, 2020) - Today Hunter Nation, a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and protecting America’s hunting heritage, issued the following statement in response to the Great American Outdoors Act being signed into law by President Trump:
"Today is a great day in American history,” said Luke Hilgemann, President of Hunter Nation. “This landmark legislation is the most comprehensive commitment to restoring America’s national parks and public lands to date.
“In a rare show of not only bipartisan support, but overwhelming bipartisan support, the Great American Outdoors Act will provide desperately needed maintenance efforts to revive and protect our national parks and permanently funds the Land and Water Conservation Fund.
“These momentous conservation efforts couldn’t come at a more critical time. While the COVID-19 pandemic has led Americans to rediscover the great outdoors, our parks and public lands have not been immune to the economic downturn caused by the pandemic. Once generating billions, our parks finances are suffering during this challenging time.“Teddy Roosevelt once said, ‘“There can be no greater issue than that of conservation in this country.’
Today, Teddy would be proud.” About Hunter Nation
