Take Action Against Colorado bill to ban the hunting of bobcat, lynx and mountain lion

(Updated 2/3/22)

Colorado Hunting Ban Bill UPDATE

On Thursday, February 3, 2022 the Senate Committee on Agriculture & Natural Resources Postponed SB22-031 Indefinitely

Thanks to everyone’s help, we are ecstatic to announce we shut down the ban attempt! The Colorado Sun reported on our efforts, noting that, “Opponents of the measure flooded lawmakers’ email inboxes with comments about the legislation. The debate became so contentious that three of the four prime sponsors of the legislation – all of them Democrats – pulled their support.”

This is a major victory for hunters that would not have happened without your help! Thank you to everyone for fighting and standing up for our hunting rights!

(Updated 1/20/22)

In Colorado, a bill to ban the hunting of bobcat, lynx and mountain lion was just introduced yesterday in the state legislature after a similar attempt to ban the hunting of bobcat, lynx, or mountain lion failed before the Colorado Game Commission.

We need your support to prevent these attempts to ban these types of hunts! We need each of you to write and call the following Legislators. Please be brief and very respectful:

Tell each legislator that you OPPOSE SB 22-031. Tell them that you support Colorado Parks and Wildlife and their ability to manage our wildlife and make scientific decisions regarding our wildlife.

This is a horrible idea! You people care nothing about the wildlife and everything about money and control! If you stop managing the predators, they will soon get over populated and eat themselves out of food. They will then start coming into you towns, city’s, and back yards. Killing you family pets and anything else that looks like food!

It’s very unfortunate your group trying to pass this bill are so uneducated when it comes to wildlife management. The issues you hear about will become more prevalent if this is to pass. Human encounters will grow drastically as well at fatal pet attacks. I wish you would actually educate yourselves before you start an uproar in Colorado. Although you think this is California it’s not. I didn’t serve my country to see things like this be taken away from sportsman. I served this country for not only your freedoms but my own. We (sportsman) don’t bother you “city people” for what you like to do so please reconsider before you vote yes on this bill. Let our wildlife managers manage our wildlife and you worry about issues you you are educated with. I would be more than willing to talk to you and educate you on wildlife management before you make such radical decisions. 719-248-8309

I oppose of SP 22-03 that would ban the hunting of bobcat, mountainlion, and Linx. I would rather let the CPW make educated decisions about our wildlife.

This will be devastating to our elk, deer, antelope and moose populations. 1st introduce wolves and now stop population control of cats. Not a good idea. Leave the wildlife management to the professionals

. Please reconsider control on predators on the impact it will have on all species of wild life. wild life management needs to be done responsibly!!!! letting predators do this is the most irresponsible thing you can do. Please let educated wild life managers do their jobs correctly. They have the skills needed for this purpose and you do NOT.

Another nonsense Bill, wasting everyone’s time, people that sponsor such a Bill really don’t understand. They need to see what a pack of wolfs will do to our wild American game. The Bobcat, lynx, and Mountain lion, are extremely effective and efficient predators .Quail, Turkeys, Pheasants, Deer, the Bobcat and lynx kill these wild animals in abundance. Now the master predator, the Mountain lion, he kills all the small game mentioned above plus Elk, Mule deer and Sheep, Cattle etc.The bottom line is you have to balance, and have to manage these predators, thus having season on these wild predators, they only know three things, sneak in, and kill, and eat it. Using common sense applies here..
