Governor Hobbs’ Next Game & Fish Commissioner Could Decide Arizona’s Outdoors
If you hunt, fish, or just love Arizona’s outdoors, a major decision is coming that could shape your experience for years to come. Governor Katie Hobbs will soon appoint a new member to the Arizona Game & Fish Commission — the body that sets hunting and fishing regulations, manages wildlife habitats, and oversees conservation funding. The finalists, Patrick Cooley of Yuma and Jessica Manuell of Parks, bring distinct expertise and perspectives, from business leadership to hands-on hunting and education. Hunters, anglers, and outdoor enthusiasts have a stake in this choice — it affects access, wildlife health, and the future of Arizona’s outdoor traditions.

Hunter Nation is leading the charge to get the gray wolf removed from the Endangered Species List, with management being returned to each state, with no judicial review. A key component of that is no judicial review. For decades we have seen the damage the well funded anti-hunting Left can do with lawfare. All they do is find a liberal, activist judge who will agree with their woke, anti-science approach to conservation, so they can pick the winners and losers, regardless of data and science. While the Left’s agenda favors the wolf, it has, and is destroying wildlife herds everywhere they roam unmanaged! This destruction includes plummeting populations of deer, elk, moose and more. The livelihood of ranchers and farmers are being threatened as unmanaged wolves kill and harass their livestock. The number of wildlife and livestock deaths are only part of the equation. The harassment of those not killed leads to plummeting recruitment numbers with less offspring being born. Eventually, there won’t be enough game to hunt and are rural economies will crumble.

“This is a huge win for Kansas hunters and I would like to thank the Secretary of the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks, Chris Kennedy, for his leadership,” said Hunter Nation Founder Keith Mark, who is also a Commissioner on the Kansas Wildlife and Parks Commission. “By expanding the night vision coyote hunting season Kansas hunters will get to enjoy more hunting opportunities. This change will also benefit the state’s deer population,” added Mark.
